A FAMILY AFFAIR

Keeping Pets Comfortable Since 1961

When you bring your dog or cat to Carriage Hill – whether for boarding or grooming – you can rest assured that a caring, comfortable environment will be waiting. Jim and Doris Cocallas started Carriage Hill Kennels in 1961, when Jim trained and boarded dogs and Doris made grooming a special part of her life.

As time went on, their children Chris and Francine grew up with the business, moving from making pocket change by doing kennel chores to learning the skills of their mother and dad.

Both now married, with children of their own, Chris and Francine are in charge of the day to day operation of Carriage Hill, along with Francine’s son Bob. The entire Cocallas family, as well as an experienced and dedicated staff, believe that animal care demands an abiding love for our animal visitors. At Carriage Hill, your pets briefly become a valued part of our family.

Many of our customers have watched Chris and Francine mature into the caring professionals that are responsible for their pets’ welfare when groomed or boarded. Perhaps a quote from one of these customers is the best response we can make to the question, what makes Carriage Hill special? We offer this comment from Jack and Sandy of Kenilworth, Illinois: “We have been boarding our dogs at Carriage Hill for 17 years. The dogs are always happy to arrive there and are hale and hearty when we pick them up. Friendliness and professionalism abound at Carriage Hill, both toward the dogs and their owners. We were especially grateful for the wonderful love and attention everyone gave to our dog, Dusty. He had become blind and deaf during the last two years of his 18-year life, and he was treated with great care and respect. Carriage Hill is indeed a special place!”
